FOREWORD
Sue is one of the most hardworking, energetic and generous people you could meet. About twenty years ago she stormed into my surgery, just before Easter with two boxes full of eggs. No, they weren't chocolate eggs but rather sugar-free carob and something Sue had invented called Carolate.
These were an instant hit with my patients. Not only with the hyperactive children I treat but also people with chocolate allergy. I had trouble keeping enough stock for the kids and keeping all the mums and dads away!
I've known Sue as a foundation member, committee member and current treasurer of the Hypoglycemic Health Association of Australia for twenty years. I am the patron of this association. She has been a creative influence in the direction of the Association. She has written most of the recipes in the newsletters over the years and most recently the recipes found on the Web site.
My practice specialises in allergy, nutritional medicine, diabetes and hypoglycemia. Changing people's diets is a big part of my practice. Sue's Cookbook first published in 1985 was a wonderful help for me and my patients and made it possible for many to once again enjoy their kitchen with recipes free from sugar, gluten and yeasts.
Sue's Cookbook is a standalone classic, practical, creative and inspiring recipe book - there are very few books of this kind on the market and frankly none of them are as good as Sue's Cookbook.
It's definitely time for a new book, a new edition and more of Sue's great recipes and ideas.
